Met services to host Open Day tomorrow |17 January 2012

The objectives of the Open Day will be to exhibit to aviation users and other stakeholders what NMS has achieved so far to improve on service delivery and products, and what are the plans to serve them better in the future.

One other objective is to promote relationships with the aviation users and gather important customer feedback which is an essential driver for managing the quality of any service delivery.

The Open Day will also be an opportunity for strengthening good partnerships with different sectors within our own department of environment by allowing them to discover how NMS operates on a day-to-day basis and support needed to effectively discharge responsibilities in accordance to the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) and World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) required standards, designed to maintain high level of aviation safety.

During the Open Day, the NMS will also display new equipment which have just been installed, give small presentations on the day-to-day operation of NMS, and those present will also have the opportunity to interact with the met personnel and learn more of what they do.

John Dutcher, senior quality management advisor for the Aviation Weather Services, will also be around to answer questions relating to the implementation of the QMS.

The Open Day will take place at the main met station at the airport from 8.30am to 12 noon.
