New school meal centre up and running

Minister Mondon viewing the facilities at the new school meal centre

Education, Employment and Human Resources minister Macsuzy Mondon, accompanied by her principal secretary Merida Delcy, visited the new school meal centre yesterday.

They met Pamela Albest, Pam’s Catering Services general manager who is now running the centre.

Mrs Albest said she has been providing this service for about 12 years now and they prepare over 6000 meals per day.

She added that the school meal centre at English River which has been running for over 25 years and that of Anse Boileau were old and badly equipped and they desperately needed a new building.

“This building, which has been provided by the government, is well equipped.”

She said they have 37 staff altogether and provide meals for all schools in the country including Silhouette.
She thanked the government for the new centre and equipment.

Mrs Albest said the staff are very satisfied and they will do their best to keep the service up to standard.
