Rotary Club lottery winners announced |24 January 2012

He won himself a Kia Rio 1400cc car sponsored by Excel Motors.

The lottery draw finally took place on Saturday at the Children’s Playground in Victoria, after the initial draw date of December 29 last year was postponed. This was because a number of ticket vendors did not hand in the ticket booklets on time.

First prize was taken up by Jossy Finesse of La Gogue who won a return ticket to any destination sponsored by Qatar Airways.

Jean-Luc Florine of Roche Caiman won the second prize -- a net book plus one-year internet connection sponsored by Cable and Wireless.

Third place went to Errol Volcere from Anse Etoile who won a desktop computer sponsored by Global Computer.
All together there were 24 prizes in the lottery and all winners will receive their prizes in a ceremony at the Golden Plate restaurant, Roche Caiman next week.

Rotary Club secretary and newly elected president Roland Rassool thanked the public for “remaining faithful” and the Club’s main sponsors for their support.

A little over 40,000 tickets were sold and the proceeds raised will be invested into local community work as well as educational needs.

The full list of all winners are published on page 15 in today’s Nation.
