Veloster among best new cars for 2012

The 2012 Hyundai Veloster

This marks the fourth year in a row that Hyundai has earned a place on the esteemed list as the Sonata, Elantra, Genesis Coupe and Genesis sedan were recognised in 2011, 2010 and 2009, respectively.

“Few automakers have the guts to bring something truly different to our relatively conservative market, and yet the Veloster bravely flies in the face of convention, from its unusual door layout (one door on the driver’s side, two on the passenger’s side) to its uniquely styled interior,” said Aaron Gold from’s Guide to Cars.

The cutting-edge 2012 Veloster delivers innovation to the compact coupe segment with a unique third door for easy rear-seat access, Hyundai’s Blue Link® telematics system, with seven-inch touch-screen display, a new 1.6-liter direct-injected four-cylinder engine mated to Hyundai’s first EcoShift™ dual clutch transmission, and fuel economy leadership, delivering up to 40 mpg on the highway.

“Veloster’s unique personality and incredible value has enabled it to stand-out from the crowd in its segment,” said Scott Margason, director, Product Planning, Hyundai Motor America.

“We are thrilled to receive this recognition from, as it further communicates Hyundai’s commitment to producing vehicles that provide high quality, bold design, and segment-leading fuel economy.”

The Veloster gained recognition here in Seychelles with the first advertisements back in November 2011 and has caught the attention of customers. The first shipment to the Seychelles arrived early this month and cars are available for viewing at the PMC Auto showroom in Providence.

If you are indeed waiting to purchase a car that makes a statement, this may very well be your chosen set of wheels.
