Honouring the retired teachers -Miss Florette Marie retires after 44 years of hard work and commitment

Miss Florette Marie

Mrs Marie has worked in only two schools – Anse Boudin primary and Praslin secondary. In 1995, she had the opportunity to attend a three-month training in special needs at the Nottingham University in the United Kingdom.

Throughout her years of service at the Praslin secondary school, Mrs Marie occupied several posts, namely head of department, studies coordinator deputy head pastoral and deputy head for lower secondary – a post she held until December 2011 when she retired.

Mrs Marie has consistently shown sensitivity to the needs of the pupils and has been a source of motivation and aspiration to her colleagues. This has earned her great respect from them both.

Mrs Marie has served the department of education for 41 years before deciding to retire in December 2011.

The Ministry of Education, Employment and Human Resources wishes her a happy, active and enjoyable retirement.
