Women’s Day -UniSey organises cancer talks for staff

The audience listening to the presentation

The event was held at the School of Education (SoE), Mont Fleuri in the presence of Dr Rolph Payet the president and vice-chancellor of the UniSey.

Also there were Alex Souffe, head of programme at the SoE and the Dean of the faculty of science, Sherley Marie.
The presentation was done by Peggy Azemia – a nurse by profession, who is now coordinating the reproductive health programme in the Ministry of Health.

She spoke about factors which increase the risk of breast cancer in both males and females and how a person can detect it. She added that breast cancer usually affects women but about 1% of cases occur in men.

Then the staff was able to ask questions and seek clarifications on the disease.
