Police officers help at home for elderly |30 March 2012

The activity took place on Friday and was part of a series of activities planned for the year to make the home more comfortable for its residents to live in.

Sergeant Aubrey Petrousse said the group was made up of police officers from police stations on Mahe and part of the Community Policing team.

“We want to show the public that we don’t just catch the bad guys, we also try to help out in other ways if possible,” he said.

Inspector Nancy Henry – who was also helping out – said the activity is also a way of letting the resident’s know they have not been forgotten and that they are part of a community.

Present to watch the activities was English River district administrator Antoinette Elizabeth, the home’s administrator Venise Clarisse and members of its board of trustees.
