Volleyball: National League-Friends upset Arsu, Premium Spikers make it two in a row


Arsu lost the match 3-0 (25-12, 25-20, 25-13) to bring their league record to two wins and a loss after three matches.

In another women’s league division one match played, OSC Comets came from a set down to beat Santa west 3-1. The set scores were 20-25, 25-15, 25-16 and 25-16.

In the division’s third match played, Cascade took 103 minutes to defeat Juniors 3-1. After winning the first two sets 25-21 and 25-22, Cascade let down their guard, allowing Juniors to regroup and win the third set 25-17. Cascade however came out stronger in the fourth and final set which they won 25-14.

In the men’s division one league, Premium Spikers collected their second win in as many matches with a 3-0 victory over Anse Royale. The set scores were 25-20, 25-19 and 25-12.

Spikers’ grand rival Beau Vallon came from a set down to beat Racing Club 3-1, maintaining their winning streak in the league.

After losing the first set 23-25, Beau Vallon shifted to a stronger gear in the remaining sets of the match which they won 25-11, 25-16 and 25-22.

In the third men’s division one match played, Neo Boyz took 70 minutes to beat BSA Spikers 3-0. The set scores were 25-19, 25-17 and 25-14.

In the women’s league division two, St Louis Bombers collected a win and a loss in two matches played. In their first match they beat Aros 3-0 (29-9, 25-04, 25-14), while in their second match, they lost to Island Girls on the same score. The set scores were 25-23, 18-25, 25-17 and 25-22.

In the other match played, Rainbow struggled past Bel Ombre 3-2. The set scores were 20-25, 25-17, 21-25, 25-20 and 15-2.

In the men’s league division two, La Digue went home satisfied after winning both of their matches played. In their first match, La Digue defeated Outsiders 3-2 (25-21, 20-25, 23-25, 25-18, 15-4), while in their second match they thrashed cadets 3-0. The set scores were 25-16, 25-23 and 25-21.
