Swimming: Cana Zone III and IV Championships - Maputo, Mozambique-Viktora wins gold in 800m freestyle |27 April 2012

Viktora, who is competing in the 15 years and above category, clocked nine minutes and 11.50 seconds (9:11.50) for the gold medal and a new personal best (PB). His previous PB was 9:21.00.

Seychelles’ other representative at the championships are Aurelie Fanchette, Dean Hoffman and Shane Mangroo.

In the boys 14 years and above group, Hoffman completed the 800m freestyle in 9:40.00 to finish fourth overall, while in the same age group and event for girls, Fanchette finished 8th in 11:08.00

The four-member squad who is being accompanied by coach Barnsley Albert are competing with swimmers from countries including South Africa, Mauritius, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Angola, Tanzania and Angola during the championships which will go until April 29.
