Table tennis: April Challenge-Barreau and Sinon the winners |09 May 2012

In the absence of the senior players, the April tournament was the ideal opportunity for the junior players to show off their talents and enjoy their matches.

The boys battled in four divisions, while the girl’s competition was played in two groups.
All divisions started with a league, before the top two finishers battled for the top spot in the final, while third and fourth finishers played for the third overall spot.

In the boys’ division one, Barreau defeated Dario Laurence 3-2 in the final to win the group. The set scores were 11-6, 11-9, 8-11, 8-11 and 11-9).

In the girls’ division one group, winner Sinon went home with the top prize after beating Angelique Volcy 3 -0 (11-6, 11-6, 11-8) in the final.

Nicholas Esther was the winner of the boys’ division two category with a 3-1 victory over Byron Mousbé in the final. The set scores were 11-5, 9-11, 11-7 and 11-7). Mick Créa finished third in the group.

In the boys’ division three, Richard Morel beat Alex Hoareau 3-0 (11-9, 11-6, 11-9) in the final to finish as champion, while Damien Ally finished in the third place.

Jean-Phillip Vanier was the winner of the boys’ division four category after beating Aaron Clothilde 3-1 in the final. The set scores were 11-4, 11-7, 9-11 and 11-8. Philip Sham-Hone finished third in the group.

The girls’ division two winner was Emelyn quatre who defeated Zahira khattab 3-1 (11-9, 11-8, 6-11, 11-9) in the final, while Lana Robert finished third.
