Sweet doses of happiness at the ICCS with NCC |18 May 2012

How do you do that ?  How do you determine whether you are happy or not?
At what point do you become happy?
Do you have to depend on circumstances or other people to be happy?
Is there some universal standard of Happiness?

Figuring out the answers and then motivating the participants to do something about spreading happiness is the goal of the  conference.

The council will be exploring the different ways people approach their own happiness and learn about the different things they do to practice being happy on the twisting, turning road to happiness.

“There will always be challenges but these challenges can become inspirations,” says a spokesperson for the council.

“These presenters will be encouraging others to look deeply at what makes them happy and special emphasis will be placed on family activities which actively promotes joy and happiness.”
It is well known that happiness is contagious and this quotation from Ralph Waldo Emerson captures this:

“Happiness is a perfume you cannot pour on others without getting a few drops on yourself” --  for when we are happy, everyone around us is happy and we  tend to attract positive circumstances in our lives. Life seems to flow easily and effortlessly.

A lot of people around the world are now asking questions about happiness and well beings – whether it is linked to money, possessions, work or relationships.

It must be noted that happiness does not come through selfishness but through selflessness.  You reap what you sow. It has been found that happiness makes us more productive and brings us greater health, greater wealth, and more honest loving relationships.

Companies are waking up to the need of making their employees happy – countries like Bhutan, India Thailand and Australia are carrying out surveys to establish whether ‘Gross National Happiness’ will increase their GDP.

Happiness is the number one feeling we all seek as human beings. It is more important than money, health, or relationships. Our homes, our community, our workplace and ultimately our country needs more happy people.

Each new day holds out a chance to create a whole new beginning and offers new field of possibilities. So come learn how to think, act and be happy. Join the NCC at ICCS and spread happiness around to …  Make Seychelles Happy!
