In the under-8 final, Levivier saved three match points to beat Denzel Laporte in three sets – 1-4, 4-0-and 5-3.

French coach Frédéric Canale said he is very satisfied with the improvement made by the young players and with their level of play.

In the semifinals, Levivier beat Robin Latorre 2-0 (4-1, 4-0) and Denzel Laporte beat Therese Soukoup 2-0 (4-0, 4-2).

In the under-18 class, Damien Laporte again made it to the final against one of the Roquain brothers. Loser to Manu Roquain in last year’s final, 10-year-old Damien Laporte won the first set 7-6, but Titouan came back into the game hitting the ball harder to claim the second set 6-2 to tie the match at a game apiece.

A super tie-break was needed to decide the winner and 14-year-old Titouan took a 5-2 lead and scored another five points and allowed Laporte to make just two more as he won it 10-4.

To make it to the final, Roquain beat Jordi De Giorgi 2-0 (6-1, 6-0) and Damien Laporte beat William Robins 2-0 (6-0, 6-1) in the semifinals played on Saturday at the Roche Caïman courts.

Several sponsors were present for the prize-giving ceremony and Vijay Patel, who is the main sponsor, gave out the prizes to the players along with Seychelles Tennis Association chairman Charlie Ng, Xavier Heinen from Maki Seychelles, Laurence Freslon from Absolue Day SPA and Robert Auguste of the National Sports Council.

The organisers would like to thank all the sponsors and added that they are grateful to Gaetano Petruzzella, resident manager of the Kempinski Resort, and his team for having hosted the finals for the first time.
