Judo-Seven judokas on European World Cup challenge

Leonel Savy (-90kg), Leslie Philoé (-81kg), Naddy Jeanne (-73kg) and Francis Labrosse (-66kg) will take part in the Madrid Judo World Cup 2012 which is jointly organised by the International Judo Federation (IJF) and the European Judo Union (EJU) and hosted by the Madrid Caja Mágica.

Praslinois judoka Dominique Dugasse, who is on a series of European training camps and competitions as part of his preparations for the 2012 Olympic Games, will also represent Seychelles at the tournament.

The competition will be carried out according to the rules and sporting codes of the IJF and EJU.

It will run on elimination (KO) system with the quarterfinal (last 8) repechage.

As for the Women World Cup Bucharest 2012, Seychelles will be represented by Brigitte Rose (-78kg), Amanda Payet (+78kg) and Paddy King (-57kg). The competition is being organised by the Romanian Judo Federation at the Sport Hall "K.Ghermanescu", Bucharest and it will also be carried out according to the rules and sporting codes of the IJF and EJU. Similar to the Madrid competition, it will also run on an elimination (KO) system with the quarterfinal (last 8) repechage.

Seychelles Judo Federation chairman Monique Athanase is leading the delegation which also includes official Lisa Lesperance.

After the competitions, judokas will attend a training camp in France and they are expected back in the country on June 12.
