Early childhood students get new matching T-shirts

Guests watch as the children show off their new T-shirts

The T-shirts are printed with the Early Childhood Care and Education logo and motto, and are a donation from the National Early Childhood Care and Education (NECCE) trust fund.

The hand-over ceremony took place yesterday morning at the La Retraite primary school to coincide with Children’s Day.

Present for the event were Vice-President Danny Faure, his principal secretary Jeanne Simeon, head teacher Edwige Renaud, among other guests.

Also present were residents of the home for the elderly, which is located nearby.
The chairman of the trust fund, Lambert Woodcock, made a presentation of the T-shirts to Ms Renaud and said all schools will receive T-shirts for their early childhood students, which are from crèche to Primary 2.

“The trust fund was established in 2011 to ensure the well-being of early childhood pupils,” he said.

Ms Renaud thanked the trust fund overseers for the kind donation and asked the students to take good care of their T-shirts.

“We will make sure that they wear it with pride, especially at events at school, regional or national level,” she said.

A group of students then showed off the new T-shirts by parading in it in front of the guests.
After the presentations, the students showed off their skills in various songs, and dances that they had prepared for their guests.
