This solidifying of the structures of the Indian Ocean Vanilla Islands will now see the appointment of a chief executive and of the setting up of the organisation’s office in Reunion.

After the meeting, Minister St Ange said he was honoured to have been elected as the first president of the Indian Ocean Vanilla Islands.

“We all believe that the organisation is a plus for our region. We all know that a strong region will strengthen our respective island’s tourism industry. I will work with each island and also with the secretary general of the Indian Ocean Commission for the consolidation of our Vanilla Islands,” Minister St Ange said.
