Central Bank of Seychelles communiqué-CBS services temporarily relocated |22 August 2012

In light of these concerns, the CBS has enacted its Business Continuity plan to ensure the safety of its staff, tenants, clients and visitors.

The respective authorities, such as Environment and Health, are assisting CBS with resolving the issue at the earliest possible.  In addition to tests being conducted by the local authorities, specialists from overseas will be arriving shortly to assist with rectifying the situation.

Given these developments, the banking services of the CBS with respect to the general public will now be conducted between 8.30am and 11.30am at the back of the CBS building.  Access to the back of the building will be through the Independence House driveway with directions clearly displayed.

Until further notice, clients collecting payments from the Treasury Department are kindly requested to visit the temporary counter based at the Post Office.  The opening hours for the Treasury Department shall remain the same as they have been - from 8.30am until 12.30pm.

In addition, all other operations of the Treasury Department will be based at Liberty House.

Furthermore, the treasury bill tender box shall be located at the Liberty House reception until further notice.  Any clients wishing to meet with staff from the Financial Markets Division with respect to treasury bills are kindly advised to call 4282039 to make the necessary arrangements.

The public will be informed of any further developments and shall be notified as soon as the issue is resolved.

The CBS and the Treasury Department wish to apologise for any inconvenience caused and assure the public that despite the relocation of certain services, the CBS shall continue to offer its services and fulfil its duties.  As such, commercial banking activities will not be affected by the relocation.
