Sesel i annan talan winners rewarded by district

The two winners with (from l to r) MNA Lebon, Minister Lionnet and GM Azhar

Denis sisters – Agnielle and Danielle – of Grand Anse Mahe received a dinner at Le Méridien Barbarons sponsored by the hotel.

In a short meeting at Independence House earlier this week, the young ladies were presented with their prizes by Minister Christian Lionnet, representing the district.

This was in the presence of the district’s member of National Assembly Lenny Lebon and Le Méridien Barbarons general manager Imran Azhar.

Agnielle, who was part of the Next Generation band, won first prize in the band category by the jury and also clinched the people’s choice award.

Agnielle will soon be leaving the country for Cuba to study medicine after receiving a seven-year scholarship.

As for Danielle, she took part in the contest as a solo singer and won first prize in the 18-35 years old category. She was also awarded top prize in the people’s choice category.

Minister Lionnet congratulated the duo as he presented them with their prizes and said Agnielle would also receive a token before she leaves for Cuba for her scholarship.

“Seven years is a long time and we wait for your return to contribute to the development of your country,” he said.

MNA Lebon said the Grand Anse Mahe district has a close relationship with the Le Méridien Barbarons hotel -- situated in the same district -- which was happy to offer prizes to the two young ladies.
