Badminton: Junior Competition-Toussaint, Cadeau and Paulin lead series

 

Unbeaten Cadeau leads the girls’ one group

The tournament which takes place during the weekend at La Promenade Gymnasium is divided into three groups – two girls and one boy.

 Three points are awarded to winners, while losers get one point.

In the girls’ group one which is made up of six players, Chlorie Cadeau is leading with nine points after registering three straight-sets (2-0) victories in as many matches.

 Cadeau’s 100 % victory record include 2-0 (21-12, 21-12) over Angy Constance, 2-0 (21-7, 21-5) over Deandra François and 2-0 (21-13, 21-19) over Stephanie Henriette.

With the same point’s tally, but an inferior set difference, Sheryl Lucas is currently second in the ranking.

 She has also registered three wins in as many matches. Her victory record is 2-0 (21-14, 21-17) over Angy Constance, 2-1 (21-16, 23-21, 25-23) over Noelisa Remie and 2-1 (21-13, 9-21, 21-12) over Stephanie Henriette.

Noelisa Remie is third in the group with seven points after two wins and a loss, ahead of Constance who is ranked fourth with three points after three losses.

Deandra François is occupying the fifth place with two points from two losses, ahead of Henriette who is ranked sixth with the same number of points, but an inferior set difference.

In the girls’ group two, Dianne Paulin is leading the standing with maximum nine points after three victories from as many matches. Her wins were 2-0 (21-17, 21-12) over Hemma Saffrance, 2-0 (21-15, 21-10) over Shireen Orphée and 2-1 (21-12, 17-21, 21-12) over Stephanie Nicette.

With two wins and a defeat apiece, Mary Moncherry and Stephanie Nicette are joint second on the ranking with seven points. Shireen Orphée is fourth with three points after three defeats, while Hemma Saffrance is fifth with two points after two defeats.
In the boys’ group, six players are battling for the title with Toussaint leading after collecting seven points from two wins and a defeat.

 His victories were 2-0 (21-15, 21-16) over Harry………, 2-1 (21-14, 17-21, 21-18) over Fabien Jerry, while his sole defeat was from Aaron Vidot. The final score was 2-0 (17-21, 15-21).

With maximum six points from two victories, Javis Renaud is second in the group. His victories were 2-0 (23-21, 22-20) over Vidot and 2-0 (21-8, 21-5) over Jahim Renaud.

Fabien Jerry is presently third with five points from a victory and two losses, ahead of Vidot who is ranked fourth with four points from a win and a loss.

After a win and a loss, Harry is ranked third with four points, ahead of Jarvis Renaud who is sixth with two points after two defeats.
The junior series will continue tomorrow at La Promenade Gymnasium.
