Teachers’ Week 2012-Exhibition of paintings honours late Girno Beaudouin

Guests viewing the paintings on display soon after the launch of the exhibition yesterday

The event is a tribute to the young artist and teacher, who passed away recently.
The exhibition was officially launched yesterday at the Carrefour des Arts, in the presence of the Minister for Education Macsuzy Mondon, her principal secretary Merida Delcy, family and friends of Mr Beaudoin.

A variety of paintings are being showcased, with exotic titles like Market Scene, Moon Ring at Eden, Marine Charter Bay Scene, Dorade at Eden, and Victoria Boat Quay.

Yesterday’s launching coincided with the late artist’s 32nd birthday, and Minister Mondon paid tribute to Mr Beaudouin and said his passing reminds us that it is not how one lives, but rather whose life one changes in the wake of one’s life that makes the difference.

“Teachers’ Day is the time when we give due recognition to teachers for their immense contribution to society,” she said.

“Teachers’ Week has provided an opportunity for us to pay a well-deserved tribute to Girno and make his dream of hosting his solo exhibition come true.”
The paintings are also available for purchase.

The exhibition will remain open until October 19.
