Homage to politics pioneer André Uzice |15 October 2012

“It is with deep sadness that I have learnt of the death of your husband, André. His demise is not only a great loss for you, your family and relatives but also for our country,” President Michel said in a message of sympathy to the family of Mr Uzice.

“I knew André well and respected him for his convictions and principles. He was a great son of Seychelles, a pioneer of politics and a patriot who was a source of inspiration to many of his generation.

“A gentle and compassionate man, André will be profoundly missed, but his spirit will live on. I am deeply sorry for your great loss and share your grief, as does the whole nation which is united with you in sorrow,” said the President.
