New software to boost hospitality training

Mr Hesse and Mrs Confait signing the MoU

This was said by UniSey’s vice-chancellor Marina Confait at the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) yesterday between Micros Fidelio and the University of Seychelles.

Micros Fidelio managing director Thomas Hesse signed the papers together with vice-chancellor Confait in a ceremony at the Anse Royale campus.

Micros Fidelio, who is experienced in the business of hospitality and is also global market leader in hospitality and information technology, has been a partner of the Seychelles Tourism Academy (STA) since 2008 and has also donated 30,000 euros towards the training of students and staff as well as the installation of IT training software at the academy.

Mr Hesse said he is ready to collaborate with the UniSey and provide specialist training and installation of IT software for the benefit of UniSey students and lecturers.

Mrs Confait said UniSey is happy to be associated with Micros Fidelio and thanked Mr Hesse for accepting to become part of the UniSey corporate partners network.
This will enable the students to train and use the software – both during training and later on in their respective work places.

The Micros Fidelio software is used in most reservations and accounting programmes in hotels in Seychelles.

Present at the signing ceremony yesterday were representatives from the STA, UniSey registrar Michel Denousse, dean of the faculty of sciences Shirley Marie and that of humanities Dr Ganesh Chelumbrun.
