Football: Barclays league division one-Dynamo dampen Quincy’s spirit |20 October 2012

The defeat pushes Quincy closer to relegation with three games remaining in the top flight.

Dynamo always had the edge over Quincy who had technical advisor Dereck Barbé on the bench while head coach Elsie Ernesta was in the grandstand.

In the 10th minute, Dynamo’s captain Evans Télémaque set up Marcus Maria who chipped the ball wide of goalie Darren Barbe’s post.

Nine minutes later, Dynamo were at it again as Malagasy Asman Todisoa laid the ball into the path of marauding Jean-Allain Valentin whose fierce shot was well stopped by goalkeeper Barbé.

Dynamo dominated proceedings but were just wayward in front of goals and in the 32nd minute, they put a string of passes together led by Todisoa who squared the ball to Maria but he shot weakly at Barbé.

Two minutes later, Quincy had their first real chance as Jerry Freminot latched onto a through ball to cut inside a defender and let fly a shot but goalkeeper Jules Monnaie produced a finger-tip save to deny him.

In the 37th minute, Quincy’s Freminot had another good chance as he pounced on Basil Bertin’s mistake to bore on goal, but the Northern Dynamo player recovered in time to clear the danger.

In the 40th minute, Dynamo missed a clear-cut chance as Jean-Allain Valentin collected a long ball to lob goalkeeper Barbé. The Quincy goalkeeper just got a touch to the ball to guide it to Maria who should have scored but he inexplicably blazed over for an incredible miss.

Dynamo took a decisive step to secure the points as they opened the scoring in the first minute of the second half. Maria floated a corner to Todisoa whose shot was deflected past goalkeeper Barbé for a 1-0 lead.

The goal dampened Quincy’s spirit and they fell further behind in the 50th minute when Todisoa’s free-kick came off a defender’s hand in the wall. Referee Emile Fred pointed to the penalty spot and Jean-Allain Valentin stepped up to send goalkeeper Barbé the wrong way to make it 2-0.

Dynamo ran riot as Quincy had given up and in the 67th minute, Maria went on a mazy run before picking out Todisoa whose header brought a good save out of Barbé.

In the 71st minute, Dynamo’s Steve Henriette let in Quincy’s Michael Hertel as he failed to control a high ball. Hertel set up Freminot who shot over the crossbar with the goal at his mercy.

A minute later, Dynamo produced a sweeping move from defence as Bertin carried the ball forward to link up with Todisoa who weaved his way before slipping a pass to Maria who skipped past Barbé to score for a 3-0 lead.

Dynamo’s Valerio Dorothé should have got on the score-sheet in the 77th minute as captain Télémaque filtered a pass to him but in a one-on-one situation, goalkeeper Barbé denied him.

Quincy’s substitute Charles De Clarisse should have scored a consolation goal in the 86th minute as he eluded two tackles but his shot lacked sting to trouble goalkeeper Monnaie with his colleague Freminot calling for him to square the ball.

Dynamo’s victory keeps them in fifth position while Quincy look doom for relegation.
