President Michel welcomes Mr Alvarez at State House

He said he will maintain communication between the two countries and expects cooperation will not only be upheld but also improved in the areas of health and education as well as the social and political spheres.

He said steady communication will help the peoples of both countries to better understand one another and help the two nations voice their concerns as small countries in the international arena.

A holder of a Bachelor of Arts in international relations, the former journalist will be holding the Cuban fort as chargé d’affaires until a new ambassador is appointed, following completion of former ambassador Maria Aida Nogales’ term earlier this month.
