Fitness Seychelles-Nicholas, César joint winners of Praslin crazy challenge

Nicholas and César finished the 36-km trail in identical time of 4 hours 04 minutes 48 seconds (4h04:48).

Nicholas was second last year in 3h53:55 – 23 minutes 10 seconds slower than winner Roy Jean-Baptiste who established a new record with a time of 3h30: 45 as the course became longer as a result of the new road built near the Raffles Hotel.

Third in the male category in this year’s Praslin crazy challenge was Praslinois John Zialor with a time of 5h59:29 and he was eighth overall.

Jenna Valentin and Christianne Commettant reached the finish line in 5h09:09 to take joint-first place among the women and they were ranked third and fourth overall.

Marthe Adelaide and Josianne Fabien finished joint-third in 5h16:29.
The first female contestant to cross the finish line last year in 4h41:23, Valentin was the oldest female contestant this year at 57 years old. The youngest female was Commettant and she is 36 years old.

Like last year, Justin Mémé, 69, was the oldest male competitor with a time of 6h33:10 to be ranked 14th out of 16. At 41, Nicholas was the youngest male contestant.

Meanwhile, the La Digue crazy challenge will take place tomorrow, starting at 7.30am at the island’s community centre.
