New dictionaries to boost learning

Mrs Delcy accepts the dictionaries from Mrs Darlong

This follows a donation of 99 Larousse Anglais Dictionnaire de Poche and a hundred Le Robert and Collins College Anglais dictionaries to the Ministry of Education by the Diplomatic Spouses Association (DSA).

The hand over was done in a short ceremony at the Mont Fleuri primary school last week in the presence of director general for schools Odile Octave, principal secretary for education Merida Delcy –  who accepted the gift from member of the DSA Lalnunkimi Darlong –  other DSA members and students, teachers and staff of the Mont Fleuri primary and secondary schools.

The dictionaries are valued at R43,000 and have been bought by funds raised through various activities hosted by the DSA.

Mrs Delcy thanked the DSA for the dictionaries and said they would be put to good use by students and teachers alike.

Mrs Darlong said the DSA will continue to make donations in future.
Launched in July 2010, the DSA is made up of wives of heads of diplomatic missions in Seychelles and aims to promote friendship between their respective countries and Seychelles.
