Cycling-Pothin at African championship |07 November 2012

Accompanied by coach Andrew Boniface, Pothin will compete in the individual time-trial and road race of the under-23 category.

Meanwhile, Africa’s cycling giant Eritrea has vowed to win what is going to be its third consecutive continental cycling championship.

The country’s seven-man strong road cycling team will comprise the famous four professional cyclists and three local talents – Natnael Berhane (Europcar), Daniel Teklehaymanot (GreenEdge), Tesfom Okbamariam (Zoba Debub), Bereket Yemane (ASBECO), Meron Teshome (ASBECO), Frekalsi Debesai (MTN) and Janni Tewolde (MTN).

Now a professional rider with the new Australian pro continental cycling team GreenEdge, Daniel Teklehaymanot was the 2010 African cycling champion after winning the individual time trial and team time trial at both senior and under-23 levels.

Also a professional rider with Team Europcar, Natnael Berhane was the 2011 African champion.
