Badminton-Chlorie Cadeau, Javis Renaud youth league champs |09 November 2012

Cadeau was in a league of her own as she won all her 10 games to finish with 30 points in group one which comprised six players.

Ladies’ singles gold medallist at the 2nd Jeux de l’Espoir in Mauritius in 2010, Cadeau hopes to follow in the footsteps of her sister Juliette Ah-Wan, a four-time former African ladies’ singles champion.

With 25 points, Stephanie Henriette finished as runner-up, while third place was taken by Sheryl Lucas with 24 points. Noelisa Remie (20 points), Angy Constance (14) and Deanndra François (10) occupied fourth, fifth and sixth positions.

François did not play in the second round of the league after picking up a knee injury.
Like Cadeau, Javis Renaud dominated the boys’ group, wining all his 10 matches for a maximum 30 points and first place overall.

Second to Javis Renaud was Aaron Vidot with 26 points, followed in third place by Christian Toussaint on 22 points.

Hari Haransiva (18 points), Fabien Jerry (14) and Javis’ young brother Jahkim Renaud (10) were ranked fourth, fifth and sixth respectively at the end of the two-round league contested by six promising players.

In the girls’ group two, winner Dianne Paulin showed no mercy for her opponents, winning all her eight games to finish with 24 points.

Runner-up to Paulin was Hemma Saffrance with 18 points and she was followed in third place by Mary Moncherry with 16.
