Cricket-New course emphasises on officiating and administration |29 November 2012
Aimed at targeting more children and bringing the sport to school level, the course falls under the SCA’s development programme and was conducted by development officer for Kenya cricket David Odhiambo, who is also on the International Cricket Council (ICC) associate and affiliate international umpires’ panel.
During the workshop held at Roche Caïman, those present learned about the introduction to cricket, cricket administration and umpiring.
The introduction part was aimed at upgrading and revising methods for teachers and others, offering the possibilities to organise and host their own tournaments, while the umpiring session was to introduce them further to the rules of cricket.
According to the SCA, more courses have been planned for next year.
