Qatari delegation visits Perseverance

The Qatari delegation during their meeting with Minister Lionnet and PS Choppy

During the meeting, held in a very cordial atmosphere, the principal secretary for Land Use and Housing, Yves Choppy, made a presentation to the Qatari delegation on the Perseverance housing project, where they viewed sectors requiring investment, among which the condominium project for young graduate.

The Seychelles ambassador designate to Qatar, Dick Esparon and the desk officer for Qatar in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Johnette Stephen, were also present.
Sheikh Faisal Al-Thani was accompanied by Raheem Ali and Sheikh Khalid Al-Thani, both also from Qatar Holdings LLC.

Following the discussions which was later deemed as being “very fruitful” by both sides, the minister, Christian Lionnet, accompanied the group for a visit of Perseverance.
The minister first took the group to the artificial beach front at the village, then later proceeded on foot through Perseverance II.

The delegation visited the building site of the new Perseverance school on which work is on track for a partial completion by January 2013.

Reacting to a specific request from Sheikh Faisal, the minister showed the delegation the batch of housing units which would be allocated by the end of December 2012.

The delegation were thoroughly impressed with what they saw and complimented the minister and his team on firstly having such a committed approach to social housing and secondly for ensuring that the quality of the houses and their designs were being kept at such a high level.
