Children’s choirs woo audience during Christmas carols show

President James Michel, First Lady Natalie Michel, who is the chairperson of the Seychelles Children’s Foundation (SCF), and their daughter Laeticia were among those present to enjoy the show held at the International Conference Centre.

Others present for the event included Vice-President Danny Faure, Speaker of the National Assembly Dr Patrick Herminie and the ambassador for women and children Dr Erna Athanasius.
Ministers, members of the National Assembly, members of the diplomatic corps and other high government officials were also among those who enjoyed the performances.

Songs like Silver Bells, Here Comes Santa Claus, Mon Beau Sapin, Peuple Fidèle and I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas were among the songs interpreted by the choirs.

The theme for the show was ‘A White Christmas’ and the stage where the children performed was decorated in such a way as to reflect how a white Christmas could be like in a tropical paradise like Seychelles.

All choirs – the Angel’s Choir, Dove’s Choir, the National Children’s Choir and Les Rossignols Choir – joined the children from the homes to perform a medley of Christmas songs at the end.
A representative from each choir was then presented with a gift handed over by President Michel, Mrs Michel and Laeticia.

Our accompanying photos highlight some of the performances and gift presentations during the show.
