SLTA puts up reflector signs at road bends

A reflector sign at a La Misère road bend

Named ‘chevron’, these signs are a means of indicating to drivers there is a bend in that specific part of the road, hence calling for precaution.

SLTA says the reflector signs have been put up mainly in areas where it is frequently cloudy so that they would be a great help to drivers especially when it rains and visibility is poor.

The sign boards, comprising illuminating white stripes in the form of arrows on a black background, are already installed at road bends at La Misère, Maravi and other main roads in the Takamaka districts.

As it is an ongoing project, other areas on Mahe are being identified for such installations and Machabée in the North of Mahe has already been picked.
