Football-Tusker FC here and ready for African CL preliminary |15 February 2013

Speaking to Goal.com, head coach Robert Matano said he is not taking anything for granted ahead of their weekend preliminary match. The coach said he already has an idea of their opponents’ mode of play, something that has helped him adequately prepare to face them.

"I have had a look at them in the past few days through videos and I can say they are a side that is strong on possession and so we have to modify our play in a manner that will help us deal with them well," he added.

Matano also declined to state his target for the Champions League campaign this year only insisting that at the moment his main aim is to get past the preliminary stage and then he can plan for the future.

“I don't want to talk about our target at this time. Our focus is to make it past the preliminary stage and then we can begin to plan for the up-coming fixtures. However, we are determined to do better than last year and reach further in the competition,” he said.

Tusker FC were edged out in the preliminary round of last year's tournament when they lost to APR of Rwanda 1-0. The first leg match ended in a barren draw but the Rwandese side won the return match by a solitary goal.
