Public and private sectors donate to disaster relie |19 February 2013

Chairperson of the fund Lekha Nair accepted the donations from representatives of both the private and public sectors yesterday during a short ceremony at State House.

Mauritius Commercial Bank has given a sum of R750,000, followed by Al Reyami Group representative Raymond St Ange who handed over R500,000 to Mrs Nair.
The third donation came from the Housing Finance Company which gave R250,000.

Basil Soundy and family, who are Turtle Bay residents, said as they were also affected by the recent bad weather, have decided to lend a hand to help those who are in need in getting their lives back on track.

The Soundy family has come forward with a donation of R125,000 and another R125,000 which comes from Bodco Limited was presented by Mr Soundy.
Mrs Nair thanked all those who have contributed towards the fund adding these heartwarming gestures re-affirm our people’s solidarity and the willingness to help in times of need.
