Handball: Curtain-raiser matches-A second title for Mont Fleuri Storm, a first for Super 8 |05 March 2013

A week after collecting a first piece of silverware with a 25-10 victory over Au Cap Sisters in the final of the Challenge Cup, Mont Fleuri Storm returned to the Palais des Sports to face the same opponents and with the same outcome – a victory.

This time the winning margin was less – from 15 points to 10 – as Mont Fleuri Storm defeated Au Cap Sisters, formerly Royal Queens, 31-21.
Defending Mohan Shopping Centre-sponsored league champions Mont Fleuri Storm will now concentrate on retaining their title and hopefully reclaim the Seychelles Hockey Federation (SHF) Cup title they lost last year.

Super 8 had lost 27-32 to a rejuvenated AC Brothers side in the final of the Challenge Cup to relinquish their title, but they came out stronger on Saturday to celebrate a first title win this year.

Coach Philoé’s Super 8 trounced reigning SHF Cup winners Young Eagles 46-26 and like Mont Fleuri Storm, their immediate target is to defend their league title.
The two curtain-raiser matches are played each year between the previous year’s league and Seychelles Handball Federation (SHF) Cup winners.
