Letter to the Editor-Is pulling down the Soleil D’Or structure the right option? |15 March 2013
In my opinion, instead of pulling down the structure, the authorities should consider completing the building and use it for the welfare of the public, for example as a rehabilitation centre, offices, residential apartments, etc.
The government could call for a tender to renovate instead of demolishing the existing structure.
The demolition could cost millions and furthermore the dust emanating from this operation can pose a health hazard and inconvenience to neighbouring residences, not forgetting also the heavy vehicles transporting the rubble which will add to the already heavy traffic congestion on our roads…
I kindly request the authority to reconsider demolishing the structure.
