Virginia Philoe turns 102

To mark the occasion, the Roche Caïman resident, who still looks healthy, celebrated her birthday in the company of her children, grand-children and other relatives and friends on Saturday at his son’s place at Les Canelles where she is currently living.

Present at the birthday party were Designated Minister Vincent Meriton, member of the National Assembly for Roche Caïman Joevana Charles and the district administrator Wilbert Omath.

Mrs Philoe was born on March 13, 1911 and had seven children, of whom four are still alive.

She was presented with her medal along with a hamper of goodies and message from President James Michel.

Mr Meriton congratulated the 102-year-old lady, and called on the society to look after their elders and to care for them as they have played major roles in the country’s development.
