Minister Adam represents Seychelles at Papal Inauguration

Minister Adam

The mass marks the official moment at which Pope Francis begins his papacy, where he is installed as the Bishop of Rome and head of the Roman Catholic Church.
Several heads of state and government from around the world attended the ceremony.

"Seychelles is proud to celebrate this great moment together with the global community of Catholics. I have been honoured to deliver a message of solidarity, peace and unity to His Holiness on behalf of the President and people of Seychelles. Our faith and spirituality is one of the things that binds us together as a nation, and it is appropriate that we see this celebration as a celebration of unity among Seychellois and all peoples of the world," Minister Adam remarked.

Minister Adam also had the occasion to meet Pope Francis and was also asked by His Holiness to convey to the Seychellois people his thanks for their prayers.
Minister Adam was accompanied by the Seychelles Ambassador to the Vatican, Vivianne Fock-Tave, who is based in Brussels.
