Minister praises Air Seychelles on latest code share agreement |17 April 2013

The move has increased the island carrier’s European Etihad Airways code share destinations which include Brussels, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Munich, Geneva, London, Manchester, Milan, and Paris.

In congratulating this latest strategic move by Air Seychelles, Minister Morgan noted that the national airline will achieve maximum reach to important markets without committing additional aircraft, which provides for a sound business development approach.

Code shares allow greater access to cities through a given airline's network without having to offer extra flights, and by that, making connections simpler by allowing single bookings across multiple air carriers.

Most major airlines today have code sharing partnerships with other airlines and code sharing is a key feature of the major airline alliances.

“We continue to improve upon what is available and while Air Seychelles is still among the smallest national airlines in the world, the vision that we share for our pride and joy, our national carrier, means that we will motivate best practices, move our airline to achieve its business plans, so that it remains not only an anchor to our overall tourism objectives, but a continuing leader in the region and after, beyond,” said Minister Morgan.

Minister Morgan thanked the support and direction given by all stakeholders who continue to deliver, thanking the men and women from Air Seychelles, the Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority, and as well from the Seychelles Tourism Board, for their dedication and support given in one form or another in helping to make Seychelles a destination of choice.
