Cable & Wireless launches prepaid roaming service |19 April 2013

Previously, roaming services provided by the telecoms company were limited to postpaid customers only.

CWS’ chief executive Charles Hammond said that extending the service to prepaid customers would allow them more flexibility and a better travel experience.
“As a responsible company, with telecom excellence for 120 years, we place the customer experience at the heart of all company core values and this is in line with our mission statement: to provide world class communication services and solutions whenever and wherever people work, play and have fun!” said Mr Hammond.

CWS’ Outbound Prepaid International Roaming service works similar to the existing postpaid service.  Cable Prepaid customers will benefit from both voice and data roaming facilities. The service is currently available in five popular international destinations as follows: France (via Orange), Hong Kong (via Hutchinson 3G), India (via Vodafone India), Italy (via Telecom Italia) and Mauritius (via Orange).

CWS says that more roaming agreements are expected to be concluded with operators in other international destinations within the near future.
Prior to travelling, active prepaid customers are advised to visit any CWS customer services centre to register and also obtain information on how to top up their account while overseas, which can be done either through eTopUp or Cable Prepaid Vouchers.

The latter can be purchased locally in Seychelles and the prepaid account can be credited from the destination country by following the instructions on the reverse of the cards.
For the moment, prepaid roaming is not applicable to the Prepaid BlackBerry Service. More details on the service are available at www.cwseychelles.com
