Athletics: African walking event-Rennick Belize finishes sixth |02 May 2013
Belize finished in sixth place out of eight competitors with a time of 2 hours 12 minutes 52 seconds (2h12:52).
The race was won by South African athlete Shane Lebogang in 1h28:38 followed very closely in second place by Hassanine Sebei from Tunisia in 1h28:40.
Third place went to Algerian Hichem Medjeber who finished in 1h32:26. Two other athletes failed to finish the race.
Meanwhile, in the junior male 10km walk, Mohamed Ragnb Sileh finished first with a time of 44 minutes 43 seconds. In second place was Aymene Abdelfettah Sabri of Algeria who clocked a time of 46 minutes 15 seconds. Third place was won by Tunisian Raouf Ben Behi in 46 minutes 56 seconds.
In the junior female 10km race, only one athlete – Chaninez Nasri of Tunisia – competed and she took 51 minutes 15 seconds to complete the distance.
