The 9th CAADP partnership platform meeting was held in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa.
The annual high-level meeting brought together key stakeholders such as African government agriculture ministers, policy makers, civil society organisations and farmers’ organisations to assess progress made in implementing the CAADP goals.

About 200 delegates from Africa and outside the continent attended the meeting, which took place at the AU’s headquarters in Addis Ababa, and held talks on its sideline.

Minister Sinon and Ambassador Joseph Nourrice, who was also at the meeting, held private talks with different agriculture stakeholders and the AU commission secretary general, Ambassador Jean Mfasoni.

The main topic discussed was the preparations for the celebrations to mark 50 years OAU/AU. Minister Sinon assured him that Seychelles will also mark the occasion with some activities.
Mr Mfasoni praised the President and government of Seychelles for re-engaging in the African body and commended the setting up of Seychelles’ embassy in Addis Ababa.

Having signed the CAADP Compact in September 2011, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Industry is intensifying its effort to ensure its effective implementation.

Minister Sinon said the ministry will try to include some of the progress made in line with the CAADP in an exhibition that will hopefully be held for the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the OAU/AU to be held later this year.
