IDC donates to Caritas

The handing over ceremony

It was the senior public relations and communications officer of IDC Marie-Claude D’Unienville who presented the donation which included a computer set, a fax/printer/scanner, a fan, radio and a roll of carpet to the secretary general of Caritas, Anne Pool.

During the short ceremony Ms D’Unienville said the donation came about following a request from Marjorie Bastienne who is the vice-president of Caritas after which IDC’s human resources manager Lindy Mathiot visited the Caritas office to see what their current workingMs Pool trying the new computer while Mrs Kilindo looks on conditions were.

Mrs Mathiot saw the need for other items.

Apart from the computer set which is a donation from IDC itself, the other items have been made possible from staff contributions. The company’s social activities committee launched an appeal to the IDC staff during the lent period to make a small contribution, and whatever was collected was used to purchase the items.

Caritas secretary general Anne Pool expressed her gratitude to the IDC and its staff for the donation which she said will really enhance the comfort of those manning the office. She said it will help them in their daily administration work and help them more in reaching out to the more vulnerable and needy ones in society.
Present at the ceremony were staff of IDC and some board members of Caritas.
