Seychelles' marine life set to woo Brazilian divers

The Seychelles marine life is set to woo Brazilian diving enthusiasts

The STB's newly opened representation office in Brazil's economic powerhouse of Sao Paolo is moving to increase awareness of Seychelles’ upcoming Festival of the Sea (Subios), notably among the Brazilian travel trade and the press.

Diving is very popular among Brazilian vacationers and a lot of them travel specifically for diving holidays.

Seychelles could become Brazilian divers' mecca with its exceptional marine life around the granitic and coral islands which are accessible almost all year round.

Only last week, the Cable News Network (CNN) rated the beaches of Seychelles as the world's number one, making Seychelles top for sun, sea and sand holidays.

Brazil, Argentina and several other Latin American countries have economies with robust growth, at a time when most European countries are being hit by recession.

Seychelles' tourism authorities view Latin America as a potentially rich emerging tourism market and are out to claim a fair share of the travel trade.

Latin American vacationers can travel to Seychelles via South Africa, from where Air Seychelles operates three weekly flights. They can combine a safari with a beach holiday in what boils down to a twin-centre vacation package.
