Football-St John Bosco still unbeaten, Rude Boyz keep up good start |08 June 2013

St John Bosco took on winless Tigers on Thursday and given their opponent’s recent form they would have been forgiven for taking the match lightly, but it was not the case as they clinched a clear 6-0 victory.

Tigers, who have been far from impressive, are sitting at the bottom of the standings. They are winless in seven games on 1 point after collecting a draw.

With three wins and four draws, St John Bosco are leading the eight-team standings with 13 points – one ahead of Foresters who have a match in hand.

St John Bosco have also scored the highest number of goals – 20 – and boast the second-best defence after conceding six goals. SPDF have let in fewer goals – 5 – so far.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Mont Buxton and SPDF played out a goalless draw at Stad Linite to leave the teams in sixth and fifth places respectively.

In the third division, Real Boys faced second-placed Rude Boyz on Wednesday. It was Rude Boyz who came out victors in the eight-goal thriller on a 6-2 score.

The results leave Rude Boyz one point behind leaders Mont Fleuri who are unbeaten so far in eight games. Mont Fleuri have 18 points and Rude Boyz are on 17.

Real Boyz, however, find themselves at the wrong end of the table – in eighth position with seven points. Sixth-placed Perseverance squared off against struggling Bel Air and despite fighting hard, Bel Air could not prevent another defeat as they went down 2-1. Bel Air are on two points in 10th place in the standings, while Perseverance are sixth on 11 points.
