Twenty years later, and on the threshold of this auspicious anniversary, President James Michel, who has not only witnessed the transition from one party state to a multi-party system of government but has led the country in both systems and is today still leading Seychelles, talks at length about the process in the  2nd En Moman Avek Prezidan interview this year to be aired on SBC tomorrow evening.

Mr Michel said the 20th anniversary is one that should be celebrated with pride because as a country and a people we have made a lot of progress and achieved a lot during the past 20 years.

“The progress we have made is significant and the transformation exceptional and this should make us all feel very proud,”  Mr Michel said.

The head of State also talked about the different challenges that as a country and a people we still have to find ways to address.
Excerpts of the interview with President Michel will feature in Seychelles Nation’s special National Day issue on June 17.
