The young people coming from different post secondary institutions are as much as possible representing businesses and companies which are closely linked to their area of studies. For instance Sepec and IOT are being represented by Maritime Training Centre students, UCPS by students from the Seychelles Institute of Technology (SIT), Creole Travel Services and Masons Travel by students from the Seychelles Tourism Academy (STA), the bank association by business studies students and the agricultural sector by students from the School of Agriculture and Horticultural Training Centre (SAHTC).

Other companies and businesses being represented are the Seychelles Public Transport Corporation (SPTC), small businesses, Harry Savy Insurance and Sacos, Air Seychelles, Airtel and Cable and Wireless, Seychelles Pension Fund and the manufacturing sector which includes companies like Seychelles Breweries, Waterloo factory, SeyTe, Orchid, Penlac, Bonjour Seychelles Perfume .

The chief executive of the Seychelles National Youth Council (SNYC) Vicky Van Der Westhuizen, who is also a member of the National Day Celebration Committee said the youths will wear t-shirts and uniforms and proudly display the logos and trademarks of those different companies and businesses.

“The different companies and businesses are taking full responsibility and sponsoring the youths everything for the occasion,” Mrs Van Der Westhuizen pointed out.

She added that the SNYC is also helping out some sectors like the small business and agriculture.
“The whole idea is to highlight some of those sectors which have contributed significantly to the country’s economy during the past 20 years,” said Mrs Van Der Westhuizen.

Mrs Van Der Westhuizen said the same group of young people will after the parade take part in the light and music display forming the entertainment part of evening’s activities.
