Siba joins campaign to plant 20,000 trees

The tree planting activity in full swing

Several stakeholders within the international financial services sector also took part in the activity which entailed planting several coconut trees along a popular Perseverance beach.

The initiative was aimed at contributing towards the “20,000 Trees for Life” campaign in partnership with the Ministry of Environment and Energy and representatives from seven international corporate service providers (ICSPs), namely Fidelity Corporate Services, Appleby Corporate Services (Seychelles) Limited, Clifton SC Limited, Abacus (Seychelles) Limited, Crystal (Seychelles) Limited, Powerpoint Management (Seychelles) Limited and Legacy Trust Company Limited.

Siba’s chief executive Wendy Pierre thanked all those who took part for showing support toward the environment.

Siba’s willingness to form part of this campaign was to contribute toward making the small community at Perseverance a much greener and attractive area which in the future will benefit the growing families living there.

Mrs Pierre also congratulated the Ministry of Environment and Energy for its solid commitment to the preservation, conservation and protection of the environment and for launching such a relevant campaign.

Didier Dogley, the special advisor to the Minister for Environment and Energy and the chairman of the tree planting committee, explained the importance of the campaign and thanked the participants for their time and enthusiasm in taking part in this activity.

Siba has said it is aiming to host more of these eco-friendly activities in the near future.
