Volleyball: National league-Cascade stay unbeaten, Premium Spikers win |27 June 2013

It took Cascade just over an hour to come out with a 3-0 win against Santa West in the Space 95-sponsored women’s first division league. They are unbeaten in five games.
It was a match that saw the eastern Mahé side in control from the start and they finished the game with set scores of 25-10, 25-19, 25-16.

Arsu managed to get their third win out of five matches when they beat Rainbow United 3-0 (25-21, 25-17, 25-18) after 1 hour 16 minutes of play.
In the Space 95 men’s first division, Racing Club, who have only one win to their name this season, faced Premium Spikers.

Spikers won the first set 25-19 and were made to work harder in the second but managed to win 27-25. The third set was an easier affair for Premium Spikers as they easily won 25-13 to end the match on a 3-0 score after 1 hour 14 minutes.

Meanwhile, second-placed Neo Boyz managed to grab their fourth win in six games against winless Arsu Boyz. After 1 hour and 19 minutes of play, the score read 3-1 (25-14, 25-15, 24-26, 25-16) for Neo Boyz.

The impressive La Digue Warriors team regained top spot in the Kokonet women’s second division league, stretching their unbeaten run to seven games.

As usual, the Diguois played two matches in two days. On Saturday, they only needed 64 minutes to see off Mont Fleuri on a 3-0 (25-22, 25-14, 25-23) score and the following day they kept their concentration level up to power past Ephelia Resorts 3-0 (25-18, 25-21, 25-14).

In the other women’s bottom division match, Port Glaud defeated St Louis Bombers 3-1 (25-20, 25-17, 17-25, 25-23) after 1 hour and 25 minutes.

The only men’s division two encounter was between Outsiders and Airwaves. The former won the match on a 3-0 score after 1 hour and 9 minutes of play. The set scores were 25-14, 25-21 and 27-25.

La Digue still lead the table with 14 points (6 wins and 2 losses), while Praslin side GAP Boyz are the only unbeaten side in the division with four victories in as many matches.
