Football: Cosafa Cup 2013-Seychelles team land in Lusaka ahead of Namibia test |04 July 2013

Local football enthusiasts will be hoping to see some positive results as the new-look Seychelles team tackle a group containing Namibia and neighbours Mauritius whom they will face on Wednesday July 10. With only three teams in group A, the prospect of Seychelles making the quarterfinals is not an overly unrealistic thought. Only one win could be enough for first place in the group depending on other results, though a win and a draw would surely strengthen our position.
Group B comprises Kenya, Swaziland, Lesotho and Botswana.

The winners of each group will go on to the quarterfinals, where group A winners will face South Africa and group B winner will play against Angola. The other quarterfinals will be between defending champions Zimbabwe and Malawi, while hosts Zambia will play Mozambique.

The Seychelles national team left the country on Monday and travelled to Zambia via Kenya. This will be the country’s first competitive matches under new Dutch head coach Jan Mak, who had previously worked with the team as advisor.
