Italian firm wins bid to equip new STA building

Mrs Grandcourt and Mr Savy exchange documents after signing the contract agreement. Looking on is STA principal Flavien Joubert

The contract bid was signed on July 3 by Elsia Grandcourt, outgoing chief executive of the Seychelles Tourism Board (STB) and Alain Savy, Bioethic representative in Seychelles.
Mrs Grandcourt signed the agreement on behalf of STB’s newly appointed chief executive Sherin Naiken.

Last year, the STB invited bids to supply and install equipment at the new STA building.  Invitation to tender was open for both local and International companies.

The STB and STA said that Bioethic won the tender bid because “it was felt by the consultants overseeing the project that Bioethic met the criteria for the tender”.
“We are confident that Bioethic will deliver the consignment as stipulated by the contract,” said a representative of the STB and STA.

Mr Savy has given the assurance that “Bioethic will provide the equipment in a timely manner”.

Bioethic will supply STA’s new building with all the equipment for the school ranging from air condition units, cutlery, fridges and over head projectors,  etc..  The Italian company had in the past supplied equipment to local companies and schools such as kitchen equipment to the Baie St Anne School of Praslin, specialised equipment to the Seychelles Bureau of Standards and to the Seychelles Fishing Authority.

The tender to supply furniture for the school has been awarded to Allied Builders Seychelles Limited. The STA announced that construction work on the building is progressing well, with 65% of the work having been completed already.

The first phase of the Academy is expected to be completed as per schedule at the end of September 2013.
